#WritePhoto The Language of Trees

Trees speak to us

In the bursting green of buds

In the rustle of leaves

In the sway of branches

In the changing of colors

In the life-giving essence

we breathe

In the billowing shade

we shelter

In the roots spreading

Deep and wide

Connecting to nature

And to us

All for one and one for all

The living planet

Are we listening?

  1. Superb poem, Kathy. And spot on – are we listening? It seems not. But we need to – a one-way conversation will eventually mean a one-way ticket to catastrophe. Well said. 🙂

    1. Yes, Alli, that is the question, and it seems, as you’ve pointed out, many are not listening. There is an urgency here. Thank you for liking my effort. I hope more will begin listening.

      1. So do I. At least it seems some conversations are finally getting going – we just need to include the trees in these… 🙂

  2. This is beautiful, Kathy. Pingbacks are being rather erratic and I haven’t seen a link in the prompt post, so I only found it thanks to Karen’s reblog, I am glad that I can now add this to the round-up 🙂

    1. Hi Sue, I’m not very good at Pingbacks, but am learning. When I saw your amazing photo of a tree with its spreading roots, I was immediately inspired. The words just came to me. I live on a forested mountain. When the wind blows, the trees sing so beautifully.
